The Unofficial Ira Glass Fan Club
Thursday, January 14, 2010 My husband and I are regular listeners to Chicago’s National Public Radio "This American Life" with Ira Glass. It features a theme each week, and within each episode are two or three "acts", or stories, shared on that theme. All of the stories are true, American-life stories, that are completely unique, unbelievable, and thought-provoking.
Here are some of our favorite episodes..

"Eddie One Way," is a great character in the segment entitled "Middle of the Night." MOTN is about the frenzy of dealmaking that takes place each night at a huge wholesale marketplace in the NYC area where producers and suppliers of foodstuff seek to find large institutional buyers at the best possible price before morning comes. It's a fascinating view into how food really gets to where we get it from.
