Wine Tasting in Ringoes
Monday, October 25, 2010
It was an incredibly fun, jam-packed Saturday babysitting our young nieces, complete with a home spun talent show, fondue & salad dinner, soccer scrimmage in the pasture & movie night. So yesterday after church my husband and I had a date afternoon & went wine tasting in Ringoes, New Jersey, a beautiful rural area near Princeton. It was a picturesque Autumn day – We took the top down on the Wrangler and drove along winding country roads, passing wheat, corn, miniature horse, alpaca and sheep farms along the way....

We sampled at Unionville Vineyards and enjoyed a full glass of our favorite from the tasting – Cam Jam – outside on a picnic table.... There were lots of families who brought cheese, crackers, their kids (and even a dog or two) for an afternoon on the vineyard's property. It was really lovely.....
... after relaxing for over an hour outside, we headed about a mile away to the grand opening of Old York Cellars, tasting a few of their specialities and enjoying an educational facility tour with the vineyard's winemaker.
It's hard to believe that November (and chilly weather) is right around the corner....
