Alligator Products

It's so surprise that lots of products are made from American alligators, like wallets, purses, belts, shoes, briefcases and novelty gifts.

Some people even enjoy eating gator meat. 

And while American alligators now have healthy, robust populations throughout the Southeastern United States, they were once on the brink of extinction.

Today I stopped in a pharmacy in southwestern Florida. There were buckets of various gator gifts piled up on shelves.... large heads, small heads, key chains and tooth necklaces.

And this one below.... wait for it.... is an alligator hand back scratcher.

Would you buy an alligator product?

Oh no, no alligator products for me. Frankly, I've never liked the look on belts or shoes or bags. And I don't much want to own a foot either...

I don't know if I'd knowingly buy an alligator product but I know that my uncle has hunted them for sport. Now those are some wild stories.

Gator meat? Hmmm... I typically say that I'll try anything but i'm not sure anymore ;-)
