Plant Walls

When Matt and Emma bought an East Village apartment, they channeled their decor inspirations – from traditional Japanese styling to minimal modern – to create eco-friendly spaces. Over 400 plants live along an 80 square foot wall, absorbing air pollution and generating oxygen. Tour their entire apartment through this link and check out other vertical garden designs here.

Watch this DIY video and read this blog for visual cues on building your own plant wall.

I am so stealing this idea one day.

Ooh I love this. I admit there are some things I see from back east that I could never imagine in my home but this is wonderful!

I am crazy for any architecture covered in live plants! Have you seen the vertical succulent gardens?

Have you heard of ventilated facades using ceramic tile? It is basically scaling the side of a building in tile so that it can naturals heat and cool itself. Well recently a company created one that would also suck pollution out of the air, and release oxygen....then another company went even further and created a tile that would do all of the above and could host plant life! So there are buildings now in Europe that are ALIVE! So neat eh?
