Rockefeller Tree
Friday, December 23, 2011
My husband joined us for Write Nite this week (yay!) and afterwards we walked over to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree...

It was beautiful and crowded, per usual. Did you know that the tree is traditionally a Norway Spruce and is brightly-lit by about 30,000 (enviro-friendly) LED lights on five miles of wire? The star on top is a Swarovski crystal.

No ice skating for me this year, but it was fun to watch...
Another one of my favorite holiday-related things to do in the area is watch the light show against the Saks Fifth Avenue building (it runs every thirteen minutes.) It's free, fast & fun. Here's a clip of this year's production:
I can't believe Christmas is two days away... it really crept up on me this year. Hope everyone is having a great holiday season!

I'm so happy you shared the Saks light show; it's one of my favorite things of the season, and I missed it this year. Have a wonderful Christmas! xoxo
This is the area I work in. The tourists can get annoying but it's fun to pass the tree everyday on my way home!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! Love the new blog design. :)
It's so pretty! Hope you and your family had a great Christmas, Jodi!
Yeah, the crowds freak me out a bit since I'm so pregnant and don't want people bumping into me, but it was fun. The tree & light show were both so pretty! Ahhh, another holiday season has come to an end....
