Trapeze Class, Round Two!
Monday, June 13, 2011 My niece stayed with us this weekend and – as an (early) 8th bday surprise – I took her to a trapeze class at Trapeze School New York. Here's how it went....
This time around, I arrived at the tent just as terrified as my first flying trapeze class. And because I'd tried it before, I was up on the ladder before the beginners. So I think I had three or four extra swings.
Working on keeping legs together, pointing toes on swing
Lifted knees to chest and over bar faster and smoother...
One of these days I'll succeed in a Catch from this Superman position!
Overall, I felt much more comfortable and had a better experience than the first time. It did get easier over the course of the two hours. I worked on the same tricks as my first class, just trying to perfect my form.
And.... enter Zoe, my FEARLESS seven year old niece...
When I was nervous about taking my turn, I just looked at her and felt instantly inspired! Zoe was AWESOME. A flying natural (I knew she would be!). Here she is, practicing her swing....
... and working on her knee hang.
