Uptown Showdown, Round Two
Thursday, January 12, 2012
Back in November, we attended the first Uptown Showdown comedy debate at Symphony Space. We had so much fun that we bought tickets for the second event (which was held this past Monday night.) The debate topic was Old Hollywood vs. New Hollywood.
Some of the comedians included Julie Klausner (How Was Your Week? Podcast and Best Week Ever), Dave Hill (This American Life), Max Silvestri (Big Terrific), Gabe Delahaye (Mr. Coconuts) and Gabe Liedman (Big Terrific).

I went in rooting for glamorous Old Hollywood – but within ten minutes, I was swayed by the New Hollywood team! Their compelling arguments included 90s movies, special effects, and Ryan Gosling. Sold.
Want a glimpse of what Uptown Showdown's old-school style debate is like? Symphony Space posted a brief video of highlights from the Dogs vs. Cats show (but it doesn't give it justice... the humor was way better than how it's depicted below...)
Tickets for this comedy event sell out quickly (and they're cheap) so here's the link if you want to attend an upcoming show (FYI – there's often adult content/humor, so I wouldn't recommend taking kids.)
