Penguins & Sharks

The last two months have been incredibly busy on the work front, and two of my recent writing projects are now live on the National Geographic Channel's website. Please check out the informational photo galleries on PENGUIN PALOOZA and SHARK ATTACK EXPERIMENT, my article Sharks in Trouble, and the corresponding television shows!

P.S. For the rest of the year I'll be in my writing cave, juggling multiple writing projects – including an article for a national print magazine! So stay tuned for more news as articles publish. Thanks for all the support.  xo

Warhorse at Lincoln Center

Last night we saw Warhorse at Lincoln Center. We first heard of this play (which is also a best-selling children's book and upcoming movie) from one of my dad's oldest friends, Tom, who is a composer, lyricist, and music producer here in New York. Over dinner one night a few months ago, Tom and his wife raved about the Warhorse production and once we heard the premise, we were captivated...

Mote Marine Lab & Aquarium

Yesterday I spent the day working from Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota – my first time visiting the facility. If you've read my archived Nat Geo WILD posts, you may remember that Mote assisted with several of my whale shark pieces (including this one on tagging and tracking sharks and this one on the Great Migrations website.)

Mote was gracious to host me and my friend Katy for an inspiration day, as I'm currently gathering content for some new clients (three cheers for *new* clients!). Since Mote was founded in 1955, the facility has become known as a leader in marine science research. Katy and I were fortunate to go behind-the-scenes at many of the exhibits, talk with animal trainers and husbandry experts first-hand, and photograph the animals up-close-and-personal!

I'd love to share with you a few photos from our visit, if you'd like to take a peek?

My Wanderfly Travel Video!

Remember that video shoot I had a few weeks ago in Central Park? Well, here it is! In the video above, I share about my ecotour expedition to Malaysia for Wanderfly's webisode series Wanderstories. Wanderfly is an NYC-based travel company that specializes in travel inspiration based on your interests and budget. This was one of the few times I've done on-camera work, and I was really happy with how Wanderfly edited my photos, words, and video all together. The editor worked really hard on it, and he did a great job! Thanks for checking it out, and I hope it makes you want to visit Borneo! :)
