STOKKE Stroller Set-Up

As mentioned in previous posts, I'll be doing lots of baby product reviews this winter and spring. So we were pretty excited when our first stroller – the Stokke Xplory – arrived in the mail. We purchased the Stokke Sleepi crib and changing table for our nursery nook (bought from here), so we've been big fans of the brand for quite awhile. When Stokke offered to ship me a stroller to test out on the streets of New York and beyond, I jumped at the chance. Here's a bit about our experience setting up the Stokke Xplory stroller...

Penguins & Sharks

The last two months have been incredibly busy on the work front, and two of my recent writing projects are now live on the National Geographic Channel's website. Please check out the informational photo galleries on PENGUIN PALOOZA and SHARK ATTACK EXPERIMENT, my article Sharks in Trouble, and the corresponding television shows!

P.S. For the rest of the year I'll be in my writing cave, juggling multiple writing projects – including an article for a national print magazine! So stay tuned for more news as articles publish. Thanks for all the support.  xo

Before I Die....

Have you heard about the Before I Die blackboard in Brooklyn Heights? It's a project that began in New Orleans and has spread to construction zones across the world...

This particular spot is at the site of a future Shake Shack. There's a few bins of chalk, and passersby are welcome to write out their own life goal. I accidentally bumped into the blackboard on my way to a meeting over the weekend, and here's some of what I read...

Writing News: I'm a Curator!

Here's some exciting news I've been waiting to share: I'm now a Curator for Wanderfly! (You might remember the video I did a few months back for this awesome travel website.) Wanderfly has been getting a lot of media buzz this last year (it's been named a top start-up by TIME Inc and Entrepeneur Magazine), and the company *just* landed a huge partnership with the New York Times. Awesome stuff!

So what's this Curator gig mean? I'll be a regular contributor for the company, sharing inspirational stories, travel tips, photographs, videos & more. It's a developing opportunity that will surely stretch my writing & photography skills in new ways. I'm really looking forward to this new challenge!

If you haven't yet signed up for Wanderfly's newsletter, here's a little added incentive: I'll be the featured travel writer in next week's newsletter and you'll be in the running to win a free Kindle! (and you all know how much I love my Kindle.) So, hop to!

Become a Wanderfly fan on Facebook.

Enter the sweepstakes to win a free Kindle.

Read the buzz about Wanderfly.

Follow the Wanderfly blog.

Watch Wanderfly TV.

I'm really excited about this new gig, and thanks to everyone for your support! My role is still developing, so please stay tuned for more news.

Morning at Ground Zero

It's hard to believe that it's the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Where were you when the events unfolded? The National Geographic Channel made a comprehensive Facebook app that allows you to share your story and read the personal accounts of others – people from around the world – via social media. I hope you check it out.

I spent last year – 9/11/10 – at Ground Zero and live-tweeted from the memorial event. As I'm still traveling and writing in south Florida, I thought I would repost and share my images from last year and invite you to comment with your stories and comments below so that we may NEVER FORGET....
