Birthday Dinner in NYC

So, yesterday was my birthday. We usually make a big to-do of our birthdays with either a trip or fun activity (last year I was at Disney with my family, and we recently saw Warhorse for my husband's special day...) But this year, being as massively pregnant as I am, my main goal was to relax. I slept in nice and late, did some writing, attended a prenatal yoga class, and then we went down to the West Village for an upscale dinner (and to experience the first night of NYC's Restaurant Week!). Week in Review

Phew – what a week already! This time of year is always a crazy balance of work + life. I had some deadlines recently, so I've been writing & editing a lot from home. But I also met up with my workshop group for a few hours on Saturday – It was a great critique session and I left, as usual, inspired by the growth in their manuscripts & happy about their individual comments on my work-in-progress story. I finally did some holiday shopping & bought a (mini) Christmas tree. Other things I've been up to this week? Oh, fun activities like visiting the dentist and the DMV. You know how it goes. I'm really looking forward to friday – we're going to the Hamptons for our last little getaway before I'm on travel lock-down. I can't wait to experience the area in the sleepy off-season!
