Two Days, Two Parks
Thursday, November 10, 2011
So it might've been snowing on Halloween, but this week Autumn was back in the air! We went to two parks – Central and Riverside – on two different days to soak up the beautiful weather....

Friday, October 21, 2011
Ziplining in St. Lucia was off the agenda this time (obviously), but we took an aerial tram tour and enjoyed a forest floor hike to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the rainforest....

travel Writing News: I'm a Curator!
Friday, October 7, 2011
Here's some exciting news I've been waiting to share: I'm now a Curator for Wanderfly! (You might remember the video I did a few months back for this awesome travel website.) Wanderfly has been getting a lot of media buzz this last year (it's been named a top start-up by TIME Inc and Entrepeneur Magazine), and the company *just* landed a huge partnership with the New York Times. Awesome stuff!
So what's this Curator gig mean? I'll be a regular contributor for the company, sharing inspirational stories, travel tips, photographs, videos & more. It's a developing opportunity that will surely stretch my writing & photography skills in new ways. I'm really looking forward to this new challenge!
If you haven't yet signed up for Wanderfly's newsletter, here's a little added incentive: I'll be the featured travel writer in next week's newsletter and you'll be in the running to win a free Kindle! (and you all know how much I love my Kindle.) So, hop to!
Become a Wanderfly fan on Facebook.
Enter the sweepstakes to win a free Kindle.
Read the buzz about Wanderfly.
Follow the Wanderfly blog.
Watch Wanderfly TV.
I'm really excited about this new gig, and thanks to everyone for your support! My role is still developing, so please stay tuned for more news.

writing My Wanderfly Travel Video!
Wednesday, September 7, 2011 Remember that video shoot I had a few weeks ago in Central Park? Well, here it is! In the video above, I share about my ecotour expedition to Malaysia for Wanderfly's webisode series Wanderstories. Wanderfly is an NYC-based travel company that specializes in travel inspiration based on your interests and budget. This was one of the few times I've done on-camera work, and I was really happy with how Wanderfly edited my photos, words, and video all together. The editor worked really hard on it, and he did a great job! Thanks for checking it out, and I hope it makes you want to visit Borneo! :)

writing SCBWI Photos
Tuesday, August 23, 2011
There's a new photo gallery on my photos page: Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrator's (SCBWI) events! I selected just a few images from the many conferences I've attended, and I'll continue to upload photos to this gallery in the years to come. SCBWI is an organization that has a special place in my heart, and I'll be forever grateful for the friends I've made and things I've learned through SCBWI conferences. Read up on my SCBWI blog content here.
Harbor Lights Cruise
Friday, July 15, 2011
There's lots of different Manhattan boat tours, but we found the two-hour Harbor Lights Cruise to be perfect for us last weekend. The vessel departs from Pier 83 and journeys south through New York Harbor and into the East River – a great way to see the NYC skyline on a glorious evening...
