Protecting Baby from Pests

One of the most under-utilized accessories in the Stokke Xplory line – in my opinion – is the mosquito net... But here's why it may be good to keep it handy in that shopping bag. Read on for tips and photos on how to use the mosquito net...

Guest Road Test: Stokke Xplory Pram

In today's guest post, Meghan addresses a commonly-asked question regarding the Stokke Xplory stroller: how hard is it to collapse? As Meghan and her family live in a suburb in New Jersey where most of their errands require driving, she's the perfect person to give the inside-scoop on the portability of this award-winning pram...

Blossom Walk

We brake for blossoms! Here in New York, the cherry blossom trees are just at-peak or a bit past peak. Riverside Park on the west side is so beautiful this time of year. We don't play in the grass & mud nearly as much as we should, so today I took my 14-mth old son on a stroll + blossom walk...

Road Trip Test: Stokke Scoot

Last weekend we rented a Zip car and drove out to New Jersey for a sweet little baby's baptism service. We knew that the road trip might interfere with Townes' nap schedule, and we also needed to run a few errands while we had wheels, so we brought the Stokke Scoot with us. This Stokke Connection model stroller just hit the market this spring, and it's the lightest, most compact and travel-friendly design of Stokke's stroller line-up. Since I posted my full review on the Scoot six weeks ago, I've received a lot of comments/messages on the product. So I thought I'd share some images of collapsing the Scoot, how it fit in our car trunk, and my overall opinion on its portability...

Guest Post: Countdown to Delivery Day

My newest product reviewer, Andrea, is due in just *five* weeks with their first child, a baby girl! And seriously, doesn't she look amazing?! I'm so thrilled for these two. It wasn't that long ago that we put ours together, and it was all entirely surreal... It felt like I'd been pregnant for.ev.er and the whole idea of taking my son or daughter for a stroll still seemed unbelievable. So while we're all holding our breath to see her sweet baby's face, Andrea is sharing on the blog today about her countdown to delivery day and setting up their Stokke Xplory stroller...

Guest Post: A Stokke Tripp Trapp Birthday

Annabelle's white Tripp Trapp decorated for her first birthday party!

I follow my sorority sister Rhea on Instagram, and as our kids are only weeks apart in age and we both own Stokke Tripp Trapps, we often tag one another in our high chair / baby feeding time posts. And after seeing her stunning photos of Annabelle's first birthday party, I reached out to her for a little guest post... I was interested in know why they bought a Tripp Trapp, what they thought about it, and details on how Rhea decorated the chair for Annie's birthday....

Guest Post: Baby's First Stroll

Since one of my product reviewing superstars Meghan also owns a Stokke Xplory pram (which I reviewed after extensive testing in New York City), I asked her to share a few thoughts on ownership from her suburban point of view to help prospective customers make a smart buying decision. Here's what Meghan had to say...

Guest Post: Stokke's Blue vs. Black Mélange Textiles

For today's guest post, Meghan –one of my closest friends (and trusted product reviewers!) – shares her thoughts on the Stokke blue versus black mélange textiles on her Xplory pram. Upon first glance, these two fabrics are strikingly similar – in the dim lighting of her living room, we at first couldn't even tell the difference! But, stroll out into the natural light, and there's a few things that makes them stand apart from one another. Torn between purchasing the limited edition blue mélange or black mélange fabrics for your Stokke Connection stroller or newest accessory? Here are Meghan's thoughts for you...

Stokke Scoot Stroller Review

A few weeks ago I attended Stokke's VIP press party and had the opportunity to see their brand-new Connection stroller models, Crusi and Scoot, first-hand. These two models join Stokke's hot selling, ultra-luxe, "Higher is Better" mentality stroller the Xplory (which I reviewed most recently here) to make a three-design line-up, each catering to a specific niche in the market. For the last two weeks, I've been testing a Stokke Scoot here in Manhattan. It's their most compact, travel-friendly stroller of the three models and boasts an impressive variety of premium features (as one would expect from this posh Norweigian brand.) After some pretty extensive testing on public transportation and across New York City – from strolling near the GW Bridge, through Central Park, and zipping around the zoo – here's my full, in-depth review on this hot-on-the-market stroller with *TONS* of glossy photographs and even a little video captured along Broadway...

Winter Walks

Overall, it's been a (mostly) mild winter here in New York City, but we've had our share of 20-40 degree days and dustings of snow. Here's a glimpse at how we stay cozy during our wintery walks despite the chill in the air...

Jazz and Colors in Central Park

Sunday was a really fun day. The parks opened back up (they've been closed due to Hurricane Sandy damage & last week's Nor'easter) & the weather was refreshingly cool, but mild. So we went to Central Park to admire the last of the colorful leaves and enjoy Jazz and Colors, an annual outdoor live jazz festival that features 30 musicians in 30 different locations in the park playing the same setlist. It was a magical way to say goodbye to the season. The entire park was alive with music wafting on the air and vibrant color on the trees. Here's a few pics from our stroll...

Switching up Xplory Textiles

It's officially fall – yay! – and my favorite season for enjoying the outdoors. Anyone who knows me in real life knows how much time I spend walking the streets of the city. I mentioned a bit about it in this post-pregnancy fitness post, but I generally walk twice a day with my son in the stroller and then once in the evening with him in a baby carrier (aiming to go at least 2-3 miles a day.)

So I switched up the Stokke Xplory fabrics for a fresh new season of strolling the city (you can see photos of all our textile combinations here.) While I've used both the Winter and Summer Kits, changing the entire textile color for this stroller is a little more in-depth than the seasonal kits. (Read all my Stokke posts here, info on setting up the Xplory here, and my full review of the stroller here.) So here's how I took the Xplory from navy (shown on top left with the carry cot from last spring) to beige (on right with the seat)...

Family Travel Essential: Stokke PramPack

When we jetted south to Myrtle Beach this past weekend, we took the Stokke PramPack with us. Although we didn't have need for a stroller during our three-day escape, we did require our baby's infant car seat and travel crib, and needed something that would protect them during transit. So how did the PramPack hold up over the course of four different flights? Read on...
